Site Survey
Site Survey is an exciting and thrilling chapter. Depending on the customer and country or area, a site survey can turn out very differently.
Not only the relevant and important data must be recorded on site, such as where the antenna should be installed to get the best possible performance, what is the local infrastructure like etc...., but how do you get to the site in the first place?
Sometimes a normal car ride to the location is enough, the easiest version, but sometimes helicopters, seaplane, boats or off-road vehicles are used and sometimes the last mile has to be mastered on foot.
Often the area where a site can be found is also challenging. In India, Jordan, Singapore, Taiwan or Hong Kong, to name just a few examples, humidity and high temperatures are a challenge. In Iceland, Norway, Sweden or Finland, on the other hand for example, it is the cold or snow that can be a challenge.
NOT ALL SITE SURVEY ARE THE SAME
Military sites can also be challenging. This sometimes starts already with the authorization to go there. And don't forget that different laws apply in other cultures. In Indonesia, for example, you are only allowed to go into certain jungle areas if accompanied by a tribal inhabitant. Here you need patience and respect for the culture. Or in Arabic countries where “Saturday” begins on Friday, or important local contacts cannot be reached while they are praying. I bet normal project manager doesn't have this “extra time” on their schedule.
With over 15 years of experience in this field, skynet-solutions knows exactly what it takes to keep a cool head, because only a well thought-out and cleverly executed site survey with a lot of heart and soul is the key to a meaningful site survey report. And this in turn is the key to a successful and undelayed installation.
